Citrawarna 2026 will return to Merdeka Square in Kuala Lumpur from 24 to 26 July, showcasing Malaysia’s cultural heritage through performances, food, arts and community activities.
Held in conjunction with Visit Malaysia 2026, this year’s festival carries the theme The Rhythm. The Soul. The Nation. The annual event, also known as Colours of Malaysia, has celebrated the country’s arts, culture and heritage since its introduction in 1999.
The three-day programme will centre around four signature experiences. Colours of Parade will present cultural processions featuring music, dance and storytelling by contingents from across the country. Colours of Flavour will highlight Malaysia’s diverse culinary traditions, while Colours of Culture will feature traditional performances and community activities. Visitors can also explore local craftsmanship through Colours of Art, which includes artisan demonstrations and creative showcases.

One of the festival’s main highlights will be the Colours of Parade on 25 July, when performers from across Malaysia gather at Merdeka Square for a large-scale celebration of the nation’s multicultural identity through music, dance and costume.
Citrawarna 2026 is organised by Tourism Malaysia in collaboration with Yes Travel & Holidays Sdn. Bhd., with support from Dewan Bandaraya Kuala Lumpur (DBKL), Warisan Kuala Lumpur and other partners.
Beyond the cultural programme, organisers expect the festival to provide a boost for Kuala Lumpur’s tourism sector by attracting domestic and international visitors during the Visit Malaysia 2026 campaign. Hotels, tourism operators and local businesses are also expected to benefit from increased visitor numbers throughout the event.
The festival is open to the public, with additional programme details and event highlights to be announced closer to the event.
