Berjaya Air Launches Premium International Routes
Share
Berjaya Air, the aviation arm of Berjaya Property Berhad under the wider Berjaya Corporation Berhad group, is expanding its regional footprint with the launch of its first international routes from Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Airport to Koh Samui and Medan.
The new charter-based services will operate as business-class-only flights, offering travellers a boutique flying experience designed around comfort, efficiency and seamless connectivity. The routes are tailored for lifestyle travellers seeking effortless regional escapes, connecting city departure directly to island or cultural destinations.
Direct Connections to Regional Lifestyle Destinations

The inaugural international services are scheduled to commence on 22 April 2026, eliminating the need for transit stops or additional airport transfers. By flying directly from Subang, travellers can enjoy a smoother and more convenient journey from city to destination.
The airline plans to operate three weekly flights for each route, providing consistent access to Koh Samui’s relaxed island luxury and Medan’s vibrant cultural and culinary scene as part of Berjaya Air’s expanding regional network.
According to Syed Ali Shahul Hameed, the expansion reflects the group’s broader vision for regional connectivity.
“The new international routes reflect the Group’s vision of enhancing regional connectivity while supporting the growth of lifestyle travel across Southeast Asia. By linking Subang to regional leisure gateways such as Koh Samui, Medan and Redang Island, we are making it easier for travellers to access some of Southeast Asia’s most compelling island and cultural destinations.”
He added that the airline’s premium approach reflects growing demand for high-quality regional travel experiences that prioritise comfort, exclusivity and meaningful connections between destinations.
Premium Regional Travel Experience

Flights will be operated using the ATR 72-600, configured with 26 all-business-class seats, creating a spacious cabin environment and a more relaxed onboard atmosphere.
With fewer passengers onboard, travellers can expect faster boarding, a quieter cabin and a more personalised service experience — designed to feel closer to a boutique journey rather than a conventional short-haul flight.
Passengers will also benefit from a dedicated check-in counter, personalised boarding process and lounge access, ensuring a seamless experience from airport arrival to takeoff.
Culinary Experience Above the Clouds
Onboard dining reflects the hospitality standards of Berjaya Hotels & Resorts, offering dishes inspired by Malaysian flavours and premium culinary traditions.
Signature selections include Pak Mus Beef Rendang, Ocean Salmon with lemon herb sauce, and Russel Oxtail Assam Pedas, complemented by Malaysian heritage kuih and gourmet bites designed to deliver a hotel-quality dining experience in the sky.
Expanding the Regional Network
Beyond Koh Samui and Medan, Berjaya Air continues to serve travellers through its established route connecting Subang, Redang Island and Seletar Airport.
The route provides direct access to Redang’s crystal-clear waters in the South China Sea and places travellers just moments away from The Taaras Beach & Spa Resort — one of the region’s most sought-after tropical retreats.
