AYANA Komodo Waecicu Beach and AYANA Cruises have launched Sail & Stay: A Luxury Retreat, an exclusive package designed to showcase the magic of sailing through the UNESCO-listed Komodo National Park aboard the luxury phinisi, AYANA Lako Di’a.

The retreat begins with a night at the oceanfront AYANA Komodo Waecicu Beach resort, offering guests the chance to relax and acclimatise before embarking on their maritime adventure. From there, the voyage unfolds aboard the hand-crafted AYANA Lako Di’a, a modern interpretation of Indonesia’s traditional phinisi sailing vessels.

Combining timeless seafaring charm with the comforts of a five-star hotel, the yacht offers spacious suites, gourmet dining, and a wealth of onboard experiences. As the sails catch the wind, guests journey across some of the most spectacular scenery in Indonesia.

The itineraries include Kalong Island, where thousands of flying foxes fill the twilight skies; Padar Island, with its sweeping views over the iconic tri-coloured bays; and Pink Beach, where snorkelling reveals coral gardens alive with marine life. The voyage culminates on Komodo Island, where travellers encounter the world’s largest lizards in their natural habitat.

Natural Getaway

Life on board balances exploration with indulgence. Guests can kayak across tranquil lagoons, paddleboard over turquoise shallows, or practise sunrise yoga on deck. Evenings bring shared moments, from film nights beneath the stars to cocktails enjoyed against the backdrop of a glowing horizon. Every detail has been curated to ensure the phinisi is not simply transport, but a sanctuary at sea.

The Sail & Stay package includes luxury suite accommodation on board, full-board gourmet meals, complimentary soft drinks and mocktails, and a wide range of water and leisure activities. Guests also enjoy airport transfers, national park entry fees, and digital photo documentation of their journey. At the resort, added privileges include a complimentary room upgrade, breakfast for two, and discounts on spa treatments, dining, and water activities.

The retreat will run on selected dates between August and October 2025, aligning with AYANA Cruises’ nomination for the 2025 World Luxury Travel Awards. Voting takes place from 18 August to 7 September, with winners announced on 3 November.
