Lovers of retro sneakers will be stoked to see the revival of a 90s classic. Asics Sportstyle Malaysia has announced the return of the Skyhand OG sneaker, for the first time since 1994.
A Step Into Modernity
The newly launched sneaker is based on the original design DNA of the Skyhand handball shoes, but updated for everyday lifestyles, featuring modern materials and cushioning properties.
In terms of design, the shoe retains its traditionally slim and low-profile aesthetic. For this reimagined version, the Asics design team updated the tooling with Flytefoam Propel cushioning and an EVA heel wedge.
The application helps provide a modern comfort experience while preserving the shoe’s minimalist design DNA.
A Blend Of Styles
The shoes will launch in two different material iterations for their first season in the Asics SportStyle line-up. One will feature an upper construction that halos the original design from 1994, featuring synthetic leather panelling that’s offset with suede details on the eye stay.
The other iteration consists of a primarily suede makeup that’s paired with synthetic leather ASICS Stripes and heel tabs.
The Skyhand OG sneakers are now available both online at Asics Sportstyle Malaysia and in stores, priced at RM449.
