Art Basel Hong Kong is set to once again captivate art enthusiasts, collectors and curators from around the globe with its upcoming 2025 edition. Running from 28 to 30 March at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC) the art fest will feature an impressive lineup of 242 world-class galleries representing 42 countries and territories. This once more solidifies the fair’s role as a vital hub for contemporary art in Asia.

The Big Hit

A significant highlight of this year’s event is the representation from the Asia-Pacific region, which boasts over half of the participating galleries. This commitment to showcasing the diverse artistic voices of the region underscores the fair’s dedication to fostering local talent and global dialogues.

Among the participating galleries, 23 newcomers from countries such as India, Australia, Nigeria, and Guatemala will introduce fresh perspectives and innovative artistic practices, enriching the overall experience for attendees.

An Exciting Collaboration

In 2025 Art Basel will also partner with Para Site, Hong Kong’s renowned independent art institution, to curate the public Film Program. This partnership not only enhances the fair’s cultural offerings but also reflects its ongoing support for the local art scene, encouraging a dynamic exchange between established and emerging voices.

Additionally, emerging artists will find a platform for recognition through the inaugural MGM Discoveries Art Prize, which will award its first winner in 2025. This initiative provides a cash prize to be shared between the artist and their representing gallery, alongside an opportunity for a future exhibition in Macau, ensuring that the spotlight shines on new talent.

For art fans, this event in Hong Kong will provide an unforgettable week of exhibitions and cultural events, culminating in a celebration of contemporary art from an Asian and global perspective.
