Art Basel is set to return to Hong Kong in 2025, with an exciting lineup of highlights that promises to make the fair one of the most dynamic art events of the year. From immersive installations to engaging public programs, Art Basel Hong Kong will showcase the cultural vibrancy of its host city and the diversity of global contemporary art.
Major Highlights For 2025
The Encounters sector, dedicated to large-scale projects, will feature 18 exceptional installations that explore digital art, design, textiles, nature and human interactions. More than half of these works will be created specifically for the fair. This year’s site-specific installation will be Monster Chetwynd’s Lanternfly Ballet, which will be presented at Pacific Place.
The Kabinett sector will also see its largest-ever collection, with 36 projects focusing on historical and contemporary solo presentations. This year, 21 artists from the Asia-Pacific region and 15 from other parts of the world will take center stage, offering a rich blend of cultural perspectives.
Public Programs
Art Basel Hong Kong 2025 will feature an extensive public program, both onsite at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC) and offsite at iconic locations across the city. Highlights include the Film and Conversations programs, as well as the Exchange Circle, which will be open to the public for free.
Incidentally, the Film program, curated by Hong Kong’s Para Site, will feature seven screenings showcasing works from 30 artists. In partnership with cultural video channel Nowness Asia and Videotage, Art Basel continues to support innovative video art in the region.
This year, Art Basel expands its creative reach with new cultural partners, including Design Trust, HASS Lab, and Tomorrow Maybe. Additionally, the Art Basel Shop will make its Hong Kong debut, offering a curated selection of lifestyle products inspired by the fair.
With 240 exhibitors from 42 countries and territories, including 23 newcomers, Art Basel Hong Kong 2025 promises to be an unmissable event, cementing the city’s position as a global cultural hub. The fair will run from 28 to 30 March 2025, with Preview Days on 26 and 27 March.
