After a three-year hiatus, the wait is finally drawing to a close. Netflix has officially announced that Stranger Things 5: Volume 1 will premiere on 26 November 2025, marking the beginning of the end for the beloved sci-fi saga.
The upcoming season, which promises to deliver an epic conclusion to the series, will be released in three parts: Volume 1 on 26 November (featuring four episodes), Volume 2 on Christmas Day (three episodes), and a feature-length finale arriving on New Year’s Eve. All episodes will be available to stream globally at 5pm PT on their respective dates.
The newly released teaser offers a glimpse into the ominous events unfolding in Hawkins, Indiana, as the town grapples with the aftermath of the Rift’s opening. Set in the autumn of 1987, the final season sees the return of the core group of heroes, now united with one mission — to find and defeat Vecna once and for all.
However, with Vecna having vanished without a trace and the US government enforcing a military quarantine around the town, the stakes are higher than ever. Eleven is once again forced into hiding, while the shadow of Will’s original disappearance looms large over the approaching anniversary.
With darkness encroaching and Hawkins on the brink, the full party must reunite for one last stand in what promises to be the series’ most intense and emotional chapter yet.
A Legacy Nears Its End

Created by Matt and Ross Duffer, Stranger Things has become one of Netflix’s most iconic original series since its debut in 2016. Produced by Upside Down Pictures and 21 Laps Entertainment, the show has captivated audiences with its blend of 1980s nostalgia, supernatural horror, and character-driven storytelling.
The final season brings back much of the original ensemble cast, including Winona Ryder (Joyce Byers), David Harbour (Jim Hopper), Millie Bobby Brown (Eleven), Finn Wolfhard (Mike Wheeler), Gaten Matarazzo (Dustin Henderson), Caleb McLaughlin (Lucas Sinclair), and Noah Schnapp (Will Byers). Also returning are Sadie Sink, Natalia Dyer, Charlie Heaton, Joe Keery, Maya Hawke, and Jamie Campbell Bower, among others. Notably, Linda Hamilton joins the cast as Dr. Kay.
As fans prepare to say goodbye, the upcoming episodes are expected to deliver a climactic and emotional farewell to a series that has defined a generation of streaming television.
Stranger Things 5: Volume 1 premieres exclusively on Netflix on 26 November 2025.
