Prime Video to Premiere Intimate Novak Djokovic Documentary The Wolf in Winter This August
Prime Video is set to premiere Novak Djokovic: The Wolf in Winter on 20 August, giving viewers an unprecedented look inside the life of one of the greatest tennis players of all time. Directed by Emmy Award winner Jason Hehir (The Last Dance), the feature-length documentary will be available exclusively on Prime Video in more than 240 countries and territories.
Produced by Words + Pictures and Sadoux Productions, the film goes beyond Djokovic’s extraordinary achievements on court to explore the personal challenges, sacrifices and relentless drive that shaped his remarkable career.
The GOAT?

Widely regarded as the most successful men’s tennis player in history, Djokovic has amassed 24 Grand Slam singles titles, more than 1,100 career victories, Olympic gold and a record 428 weeks as world No. 1. Yet despite rewriting the sport’s record books, he remains one of its most debated and misunderstood figures.
The Wolf in Winter traces Djokovic’s journey from his childhood in war-torn Serbia, where his family made enormous sacrifices to support his ambitions, to becoming a global sporting icon. The documentary also examines the pressures of breaking into an era dominated by Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal, and how his fiercely competitive personality often divided opinion among fans.
With exclusive behind-the-scenes access to tournaments, training sessions and family life, the documentary presents a more personal portrait of the Serbian star than ever before. Alongside candid interviews with Djokovic, the film features contributions from his wife Jelena, family members and some of tennis’ biggest names, including Rafael Nadal, Andre Agassi, Pete Sampras, Boris Becker and Jim Courier.
Speaking about the project, Djokovic said the documentary explores “the moments people didn’t see” — the doubts, sacrifices and constant evolution behind his success. Director Jason Hehir added that audiences will discover not only one of sport’s greatest champions, but also a father, husband and deeply complex individual navigating the latter stages of an extraordinary career.
Novak Djokovic: The Wolf in Winter premieres exclusively on Prime Video on 20 August.
