What is steer-by-wire? Well …….. it is ………
No Mechanical Column: The steering wheel connects to wheels via signals, removing the traditional shaft.
Yoke Steering Design: The system requires a compact yoke steering wheel because of the reduced turning range (170 degrees), providing a clearer view of the dashboard.
Enhanced Maneuverability: It reduces steering effort at low speeds, making parking and tight maneuvers much easier without having to cross hands.
Safety and Redundancy: Despite having no physical link, the system includes redundant architecture, high-precision sensors, and a newly developed airbag structure to meet safety standards.
Variable Ratios: The system dynamically adjusts the steering ratio based on driving speed, offering more direct control at low speeds and improved stability at high speeds
