Horizon Watches Introduces Spectrum, A Study In Symmetry And Modern Design
Share
In an industry increasingly drawn to bold asymmetry and visual complexity, Horizon Watches is taking a more considered approach with the brand new Spectrum collection. The new timepiece leans into balance, proportion, and thoughtful restraint, marking a clear evolution in Horizon’s design language while staying grounded in traditional watchmaking principles.
At first glance, Spectrum presents itself as reassuringly familiar. The watch features a 38mm round case with classic proportions that sit comfortably on the wrist. Look closer, however, and the details begin to reveal a more progressive character. Every surface has been carefully considered, from the way the case catches light to how each curve frames the dial.
Next Step

Spectrum represents Phase 2 of Horizon Watches design evolution, introducing stronger geometry and refined finishing throughout the case construction. Angular lugs add quiet confidence, while a subtle dimple along the case flank serves as a discreet signature detail. A mix of sandblasted, polished, circular, and vertically brushed finishes creates a layered visual rhythm that feels intentional rather than ornamental. Completing the profile is a box-shaped sapphire crystal, adding depth and a slightly vintage touch to the overall design.
The dial is where Spectrum truly invites closer inspection. Constructed across multiple layers, the top surface is CNC-machined from solid steel, featuring deep ridges that expose the layers beneath. The middle layer—nicknamed “the pizza”—is divided into four colour quadrants, each chosen to evoke a distinct emotional tone. Surrounding this is an outer ring made from sapphire glass, which refracts light differently from the metal elements below, creating subtle shifts in reflection as the watch moves.
Beneath The Colours

Powering Spectrum is the Miyota 9015 automatic movement, a slim and dependable Japanese calibre known for its reliability. Horizon adds its own touch with a custom tungsten rotor, fully rounded and symmetrical to echo the geometry of the dial.
No element has been treated as an afterthought. Both the FKM rubber strap and the 316L stainless steel bracelet were designed specifically for Spectrum, complete with integrated lugs and a butterfly clasp for a seamless fit.
Inside the caseback is a quote from Stephen Hawking: “The past, like the future, is indefinite and exists only as a spectrum of possibilities.” It’s a fitting reflection of a watch that looks both backward and forward—rooted in fundamentals, yet confidently modern.
