Disney+ Hotstar To Premiere The First Omen This May


This May, witness the birth of evil when 20th Century Studios’ The First Omen arrives on Disney+ Hotstar. Directed by Arkasha Stevenson the horror film is a prequel to the classic horror franchise. Since its debut critics have described the film as “death-fully intense”, “truly petrifying” and “the best horror movie of the year”. Now, horror buffs can experience the terrifying tale at home when it premieres on Disney+ Hotstar.

Set in 1971 and starring Nell Tiger Free (Game of Thrones) as American nun-to-be Margaret, who’s traveling to Rome to take the veil, The First Omen reveals the horrific events leading up to Damien’s inception.

In this psychological horror prequel to the classic Omen films, a young American woman is sent to Rome to begin a life of service to the church. Soon, she encounters a darkness that causes her to question her faith, and that reveals a terrifying conspiracy to bring about the birth of evil incarnate.

Who’s In It

The First Omen stars Nell Tiger Free (Servant), Tawfeek Barhom (Mary Magdalene), Sonia Braga (Kiss of the Spider Woman), Ralph Ineson (The Northman) and Bill Nighy (Living).The film is directed by Stevenson based on characters created by David Seltzer (The Omen), with a story by Ben Jacoby (Bleed) and a screenplay by Tim Smith & Arkasha Stevenson and Keith Thomas (Firestarter).

Fans can delve deeper into the franchise with exclusive behind-the-scenes bonus features when the film arrives on digital retailer platforms including Prime Video, Apple TV and Fandango at Home on May 28 and on Blu-ray and DVD July30.

Horror fans can also relive the cult classic with the original Omen film available to stream now on Disney+ Hotstar, with The First Omen coming premiering on May 30.
