F80

The F80 pictured here is finished in a colour that is called ‘Rosso Taormina’ which Ferrari says is a deep-earthy shade of red inspired by the volcanic slopes of Mount Etna, giving the Ferrari F80 a darker, more understated presence than Ferrari’s traditional red colour. Well, it is very striking indeed but a Ferrari in a dark colour never stands out like a Ferrari in ‘red’!

F80Meanwhile, the Ferrari F80 we are taking about here is a limited-production, all-wheel-drive hybrid hypercar, the successor to the LaFerrari, launched to celebrate Ferrari’s 80th anniversary and showcasing extreme performance with a 1,200 hp V6-hybrid powertrain, advanced aerodynamics, and technology inspired by Formula 1 and endurance racing.

It features an electric front axle for torque vectoring, active aerodynamics, and can achieve 0-62 mph in 2.15 seconds, becoming Ferrari’s most powerful road car.

F80The F80 Need To Know Facts

  • Powertrain: A 3.0L twin-turbo V6 engine (derived from the 499P Le Mans car) paired with a hybrid system, delivering a combined 1,200 horsepower and 793 lb-ft of torque, driving all four wheels.
  • Performance: 0-62 mph in 2.15 seconds, with a top speed over 217 mph, and significant downforce (over 1,000 kg at 155 mph).
  • Aerodynamics: Features an F1-inspired design with a massive diffuser, active rear wing, S-duct, and front triplane wing for extreme downforce and stability.
  • Technology: Utilises an 800-volt battery, electric turbos for instant response, active suspension (Multimatic dampers) for ride control, and an 8-speed dual-clutch transmission.
  • Chassis & Design: A carbon fiber monocoque chassis with asymmetric carbon weaves for strength, an aerodynamic cockpit, and futuristic styling paying homage to past icons like the F40.
  • Driving Experience: Offers multiple modes (Hybrid, Performance, Quali) on the steering wheel, integrating F1-style boost optimisation for track use, delivering incredible speed with surprising balance and control.

F80

The F80’s aerodynamics package is the most advanced ever fitted to a Ferrari road car, generating an incredible 1,000 kg of downforce at 250 km/h. Key features include:

A front triplane wing inspired by Formula 1 and WEC race cars
An S-Duct that channels air from under the nose to over the hood
A massive 1,800 mm long rear diffuser that generates over 50% of rear downforce
An active rear wing that can adjust both height and angle of attack

The aerodynamics work in concert with an advanced active suspension system to optimize downforce in all driving conditions. At low speeds, the system prioritizes mechanical balance, while at higher speeds it works with the active aero elements to maintain ideal aerodynamic balance through corners.
