Prime Video has officially confirmed that season 3 of The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power will premiere globally on 11 November 2026.
The announcement was made during Amazon’s annual Upfront presentation, with the streaming platform highlighting the fantasy drama’s continued global success. According to Amazon MGM Studios, the series has attracted more than 185 million viewers worldwide and remains one of Prime Video’s strongest drivers for new memberships.
Set thousands of years before the events of The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit, the series explores the legendary Second Age of Middle-earth, charting the rise of kingdoms, the forging of power and the return of evil.
Season three will jump forward several years after the events of season two and takes place during the height of the war between the Elves and Sauron. As the Dark Lord moves to forge the One Ring, the fate of Middle-earth hangs in the balance.
Peter Friedlander, Head of Global Television at Amazon MGM Studios, described the series as a defining title for Prime Video, citing its “scale, ambition and cinematic storytelling.”
Rings of Power Season 3 is produced by showrunners and executive producers J.D. Payne and Patrick McKay alongside Lindsey Weber, Justin Doble, Kate Hazell and Charlotte Brandstrom. All episodes from the first two seasons are currently streaming exclusively on Prime Video in more than 240 countries and territories worldwide.
