Prime Video has revealed the first-look images for Host, an upcoming Thai Amazon Original film that reimagines the chilling folklore of Mae Sue — a guardian spirit said to protect newborns.

Directed by acclaimed Thai filmmaker Pokpong-Pairach Khumwan (Girl from Nowhere, Siam Square), the supernatural horror is set to premiere exclusively on Prime Video later this year, reaching audiences in over 240 countries and territories.

The Story

Host follows the story of Ing, a young woman who is sent to a reform school located on a remote island where strict obedience rules all. Within the school’s rigid hierarchy, Ing quickly finds herself at the bottom.

As disturbing and inexplicable events begin to occur, Ing must confront the terrifying possibility that she may not just be a victim of the supernatural forces around her—she could be their source.

Cast

The film stars Baipor-Thitiya Jirapornsilp (Love Stuck, Not Friends), Perth-Veerinsara Tungkitsuvanich (Attack 13), and Jump-Pisitpol Ekaphongpisit (The Cliche, Not Friends). They are joined by a strong supporting cast including Wee-Weeraya Zhang, Nepjune-Nutkitta Poonsukwattana, Famed-Sanutcha Janchoom, and Ae-Narinthorn Na Bangchang.

Produced by Transformation Films for Amazon MGM Studios, Host is the first cinematic adaptation to centre on Mae Sue, marking a significant moment in Thai horror storytelling.
