OMEGA Launches Bold New Chapter In Speedmaster ‘Dark Side Of The Moon’ Legacy

OMEGA has announced a striking expansion of its iconic Speedmaster “Dark Side of the Moon” collection with seven new models, blending cutting-edge ceramic engineering with a heritage rooted in lunar exploration.
The 2025 line-up features four distinctive dial styles and is available on newly designed rubber or nylon straps, representing the brand’s most significant technical evolution in over a decade.

The collection’s origins date back to one of the most historic moments in spaceflight. In 1968, Apollo 8 became the first manned mission to orbit the Moon. As the spacecraft disappeared behind the lunar far side, command module pilot Jim Lovell’s final words to ground control — “we’ll see you on the other side” — were broadcast before radio contact was lost. On that mission, each astronaut wore an OMEGA Speedmaster, sealing the model’s place in space history.
This legacy lives on in the new Speedmaster designs, which pay tribute to that pioneering spirit while pushing the limits of contemporary watchmaking. With 12 years passed since the original “Dark Side of the Moon” captivated collectors and enthusiasts, the 2025 evolution showcases OMEGA’s latest advancements in ceramic case construction and chronograph movement development.

Raynald Aeschlimann, President and CEO of OMEGA, commented: “The Dark Side of the Moon collection embodies OMEGA’s pioneering spirit that has guided us to the Moon. These new models champion that extraordinary legacy while introducing innovations that will define chronographs for generations to come.”
Crafted with the precision and boldness synonymous with the Speedmaster name, these new timepieces reaffirm OMEGA’s leading role in both horology and space history. The new Speedmaster Dark and Grey Side of the Moon models will be available later this year at OMEGA boutiques and authorised retailers worldwide.
