Novotel has officially opened Novotel Johor Bahru City Centre, marking a significant addition to the city’s vibrant hospitality landscape. Located in the heart of Johor Bahru, the new hotel blends contemporary comfort with warm Malaysian hospitality, offering an inviting stay for both business and leisure travellers.
Designed to reflect Malaysia’s cultural identity within a sleek, modern framework, the hotel’s interiors combine stylish finishes with subtle local touches. This approach creates welcoming spaces that echo Johor Bahru’s character while embracing Novotel’s signature contemporary flair.
Boost For Visitors

The property features 304 well-appointed rooms and suites equipped with floor-to-ceiling windows, Smart TVs, Deep Nature amenities and flexible layouts. Suites offer added comforts such as espresso machines, while dedicated family configurations ensure that guests of all ages enjoy a seamless stay.
Dining options include Food Exchange, which serves local favourites, international cuisine and seasonal menus. Guests can also relax at the lobby’s Gourmet Bar for light bites and crafted drinks, or enjoy refreshments at the Pool Bar beside the open-air infinity pool.
For events, the hotel introduces The Grand Chamber — a 520-square-metre pillarless ballroom with three LED screens, suitable for up to 300 guests. Complemented by six meeting rooms and a VIP waiting room, the hotel is positioned as an ideal venue for weddings, conferences and corporate functions.
Growing Hospitality Footprint

“The opening of Novotel Johor Bahru City Centre reflects our continued commitment to growing Accor’s presence across Asia,” said Garth Simmons, Chief Operating Officer, Premium, Midscale & Economy Division, Accor Asia. “Johor Bahru is a dynamic gateway city, and this hotel embodies the balance of comfort and modernity that Novotel is known for.”
General Manager Brendan Chong added: “We are thrilled to open Novotel Johor Bahru City Centre as a vibrant new destination for travellers and the local community. Our goal is to create meaningful stays where business meets comfort in the heart of Johor Bahru.”
Launching ahead of Visit Malaysia 2026 and Visit Johor 2026, the hotel is set to enhance the city’s appeal as both a business hub and cultural destination.
Sustainable Innovation
In line with Novotel’s long-term commitment to ocean health, the hotel integrates sustainable practices under the brand’s Positive Impact Plan, introduced in 2024. Each room includes a filtered water tap, providing purified drinking water while eliminating single-use plastic bottles — supporting both guest wellbeing and environmental responsibility.
To celebrate its opening, Novotel Johor Bahru City Centre is offering an Exclusive Opening Offer from MYR 345++ per night for stays until 6 March 2026.
