Inspired by Malaysia’s beloved open house tradition, Marriott Executive Apartments Kuala Lumpur’s new Home in Malaysia campaign invites travellers to experience the city through local culture, food and community-focused activities that bring the spirit of Malaysian hospitality to life.

Marriott Executive Apartments Kuala Lumpur (MEA KL) is inviting travellers to experience the warmth of Malaysian hospitality through Home in Malaysia, a new campaign inspired by the country’s cherished open house tradition.

Designed for extended-stay guests, business travellers, families and leisure visitors, the initiative offers a more immersive way to discover Kuala Lumpur by showcasing the everyday rituals, flavours and experiences that define life in Malaysia.

The campaign comes as travellers increasingly seek authentic cultural connections and meaningful experiences during their journeys. Through a series of curated activities, guests are encouraged to experience the city not simply as visitors, but as temporary locals.

“At the heart of the campaign is Malaysia’s unique culture of welcoming others into our homes,” said Grant Young, General Manager of Marriott Executive Apartments Kuala Lumpur.

“Many travellers today are looking for more than convenience – they want a genuine connection to the places they visit. Home in Malaysia allows us to share that spirit with guests in a way that feels authentic and memorable.”

Central to the campaign is The Modern Malaysian Open House, an interactive experience that transforms one of the property’s apartment units into a contemporary Malaysian home. Inspired by the communal spirit of traditional open houses, the experience features a series of activities designed to showcase different aspects of Malaysian culture.

Guests can take part in a Popiah Basah workshop led by Head Chef Partiban Nalliah, create personalised postcards inspired by Malaysia in collaboration with Kozie Krafts, and join a bath bomb painting session by Wunderbath featuring the country’s much-loved “Oyen” orange cat.

Beyond the cultural activities, MEA KL continues to offer the comforts of apartment-style living in the heart of Kuala Lumpur, with spacious residences, kitchenettes, in-room laundry facilities and family-friendly amenities designed for longer stays.

Food also plays a central role in the campaign. To complement the experience, Bistro Kia Peng will introduce a selection of dishes inspired by Malaysia’s rich culinary heritage as part of its new à la carte menu launching in July 2026.

Among the highlights is Chef Partiban’s Coastal Curry, featuring red snapper, lady’s finger, eggplant and tomato in an aromatic curry inspired by the communal dining traditions found across the country.

“Food has always been at the heart of Malaysian hospitality,” said Chef Partiban. “Through the Home in Malaysia menu, we wanted to celebrate the dishes and flavours that many Malaysians grew up with while presenting them in a way that feels familiar, comforting and memorable for our guests.”

Following its media preview, The Modern Malaysian Open House experience and selected workshops will be opened to the public in August 2026 as part of Marriott Executive Apartments Kuala Lumpur’s first anniversary celebrations.
