Prime Video has announced that its upcoming action-comedy Heads of State will premiere globally on July 2, 2025. Directed by Ilya Naishuller (Hardcore Henry, Nobody), the film pairs John Cena and Idris Elba as unlikely allies in a high-stakes, globe-trotting adventure.

Cena stars as U.S. President Will Derringer, and Elba plays UK Prime Minister Sam Clarke. The two world leaders share a famously tense and very public rivalry, one that threatens to fracture their nations’ long-standing alliance. But when a powerful and mysterious adversary targets both men, they’re forced to set aside their differences and rely on the only people they can trust—each other.

Joining them is MI6 agent Noel Bisset, portrayed by Priyanka Chopra Jonas, who helps them navigate a deadly global conspiracy that puts the entire free world at risk. Together, they must outrun enemies, survive explosive threats and—most challenging of all—find a way to work together.

The film blends adrenaline-fueled action with sharp comedic timing and a nostalgic nod to 1990s buddy comedies. Expect big stunts, fast-paced chases, and a whole lot of banter as Cena and Elba reunite on screen for the first time since The Suicide Squad—only this time, they’re (mostly) on the same side.
