Launched in May 2025, the Maextro S800 quickly became the top seller for cars over USD100,000 in China, dominating sales figures for several months. Now in December 2025, the Maextro S800 sales in China has surpassed the BMW i7, Mercedes S-Class and even the Porsche Panamera.

Produced as a joint venture between JAC (Jianghuai Automobile Group) with Huawei providing software, sales network, and brand power, its popularity has moved to even the Middle East nations with some buyers paying almost twice the sticker price.

This Maextro S800 is built using Huawei’s cutting-edge smart car tech (AI, driver assistance, seamless connectivity) with Rolls-Royce level luxury materials and features, including crystal elements, smart doors, and advanced infotainment.

The cabin is designed with premium materials like genuine leather, wood, and crystal accents, a “starry sky” ceiling, a built-in refrigerator, and a 2,920-watt, 43-speaker Huawei Sound audio system.

This Huawei Sound audio has advanced algorithms that allow front and rear passengers to listen to completely different audio content simultaneously with minimal interference (claimed 30dB isolation).

Rear seats feature exciters that vibrate in sync with music and video content, adding a tactile dimension to the experience. A motorised tweeter rises from the dashboard and uses ambient lighting synchronised with the music, improving sound uniformity.

The S800 is equipped with Huawei’s ADS 4.0 advanced driver-assistance system, incorporating 36 sensors including four LiDAR units for advanced autonomous driving capabilities. It also features intelligent electric doors that use radar to detect obstacles.
