DENZA Malaysia’s entry into the luxury off-road SUV segment starts this coming week. In case you were wondering, Denza is the luxury automotive division of BYD cars China. Just like Lexus is for Toyota.

Marking the brand’s first plug-in hybrid model in Malaysia, the DENZA B8 is developed around three defining pillars that shape how a modern luxury SUV should feel from the inside out: the DMO (Dual Mode Off-Road) Super Hybrid platform, DiSus-P Intelligent Hydraulic Body Control Suspension, and a Refined Luxury cabin experience.

Electrified Performance for Real-World Driving Powered by DMO

At the heart of the DENZA B8 is the BYD-developed DMO (Dual Mode Off-Road) Super Hybrid Platform, combining a 2.0-litre turbocharged engine with dual electric motors and Blade Battery technology.

Unlike conventional hybrid systems focused mainly on urban efficiency, DMO is developed with real off-road capability and long-distance performance as equal priorities. In the DENZA B8, the system delivers up to 450kW and 760Nm, combining instant electric response with sustained high-speed endurance while optimizing fuel efficiency across varying driving conditions.

With up to 115km of pure electric range and a combined range of up to 1,040km both in NEDC, the system supports everything from daily commuting to long-distance travel and off-road exploration. Operating modes such as Pure EV, HEV Series and Parallel Mode work seamlessly in the background, adjusting power delivery based on driving demand.

A Refined Experience Inside and Out, Built for Modern Luxury

The DENZA B8 combines a strong exterior identity with a calm, refined interior experience, balancing rugged presence with modern luxury.

Its Starship Mecha-inspired design language gives the SUV a commanding road presence, defined by Starship Wing LED daytime running light graphics, “Energy Thruster” inspired Tail Lamps, a bold silhouette and more futuristic detailing that signals both capability and intent.

Inside, the focus shifts to comfort, clarity and luxury. The cabin is designed around the driver, featuring a commanding seating position, available with Nappa leather[1] and a layout that prioritises ease of use. The result is a space that feels controlled, quiet and composed, even when conditions outside are not.

The Devialet® 18-speaker premium audio system – available as standard across the DENZA B8 range further enhances the in-cabin experience, adding depth and immersion to long journeys and reinforcing the sense of refined luxury throughout.

A New Benchmark for Integrated SUV Engineering

The DENZA B8 SUV will be made public for the first time from 22 – 24 May 2026 at Main Concourse, Ground Floor, Bangsar Shopping Centre from 10am to 10pm.
