As one of the highlights of its 10th anniversary celebration, Dawn Atelier & Academy (DA&A) is thrilled to announce that the renowned Dutch goldsmith Leen Heyne is set to unveil his much-anticipated exhibition, “Mystique: Leen Heyne Artistry of Alloy and Gems,” in Hong Kong.
This marks Heyne’s first visit to Asia, where he will be showcasing a stunning collection of uniquely crafted rings that redefine the boundaries of traditional goldsmithing. The exhibition will run from Sunday April 20, 2025 until Saturday May 17, 2025.

The theme of “Mystique” captures the allure and enigma surrounding Heyne’s artistry. Each piece is not merely a ring; but also a testament to the profound connection between the artist and the materials he employs.
The word “mystique” evokes an aura of mystery and fascination—qualities intricately woven into the fabric of Heyne’s creations. Visitors will be drawn into a world where traditional craftsmanship merges seamlessly with contemporary innovation.
Master Craftsman

Leen Heyne’s rings are masterfully crafted, showcasing groundbreaking goldsmithing techniques and skill refinement honed over years of dedication. Each piece begins with a single strip of precious metal, shaped through precise bends, twists, and turns achieved by manual dexterity and physical force.
Diamonds are introduced during the modelling process—never afterward—and are held in place by a unique metallurgic tension rather than traditional settings. Heyne’s meticulous sanding creates ultra-fine patterns, while his rare approach reflects a belief in the material’s own language, which reveals itself during creation.

Yve Chan, Founder of Dawn Atelier & Academy, noted, “I have a deep admiration for the craftsmanship and aesthetics of Leen Heyne, whom I consider to be the foremost contemporary jewellery artisan in the world. His innovative approach to design and ability to transform traditional techniques into modern artistry perfectly embody the values DA&A strives to promote,” said Chan.
“Our mission is to celebrate exceptional craftsmanship and provide a platform for artisans to share their stories, skills, and philosophies, and Leen Heyne’s work is a shining reflection of this ethos.”
