Frasers Hospitality has officially launched Capri by Fraser, Penang, marking the Capri by Fraser brand’s debut in Penang and expanding its lifestyle hospitality footprint in Malaysia.
Located along Jalan Magazine, just steps from George Town’s UNESCO World Heritage Site, the new 22-storey property combines contemporary social living with Penang’s rich cultural identity. Designed for modern independent travellers, the hotel features 248 guestrooms and residences across seven room categories, including studios and one-bedroom units equipped with kitchenettes, digital concierge access, IPTV with Google Cast, and in-room drip coffee experiences.

The property blends heritage and modern architecture through a preserved heritage shophouse connected to a newly built tower. Kuala Lumpur-based architect and artist Lian Kian Lek led the hotel’s creative storytelling and art direction, integrating Penang-inspired visuals, wayfinding, and curated artworks throughout the building.
At the centre of the hotel is The Den, Capri by Fraser’s signature social hub designed for casual gatherings, check-ins, and light dining. The space includes a Grab & Go counter operated alongside Penang hospitality brand Norm, serving artisanal coffee, pastries, sandwiches, and evening beverages. Norm also operates Palm House Restaurant and Bar within the property, further anchoring the hotel within George Town’s evolving food and lifestyle scene.

The pet-friendly hotel also features a sheltered swimming pool, jacuzzi, yoga room, gymnasium, EV charging stations, and flexible meeting spaces tailored for both leisure and bleisure travellers.
To celebrate the opening, guests booking directly with the hotel can enjoy 25% off Best Available Rates inclusive of breakfast.
