Following a highly successful debut, Ombak Festival returns to Desaru Coast from 12 to 14 September 2025, offering an expanded celebration of global music, Southeast Asian culture, and family-friendly entertainment.

Headlining this year’s event are internationally acclaimed acts: Simply Red, performing their exclusive Southeast Asian show as part of their 40th anniversary tour. They will be joined by funk pioneers George Clinton & Parliament Funkadelic, soul sensation Joss Stone, and Australian electronic duo Flight Facilities, making their Malaysian debut.

The festival at Desaru Coast also showcases 29 regional music acts from across ASEAN.  This includes Malaysia’s Joe Flizzow, SonaOne, and Ismail Izzani, Thailand’s Phum Viphurit, Singapore’s The Pinholes and DJs from Blackout Agency, Indonesia’s Diskoria and Tanayu, and Cambodia’s Vanthan, among many others.

Food And Family

Food is a central attraction at Ombak 2025. The culinary lineup includes Sazón Tapas & Grill by acclaimed chef Andrew Walsh, Carbon KL’s Smoke & Fire barbecue showcase, and the Flavours of Johor pavilion, celebrating regional ingredients and cooking traditions.

Art and culture also take centre stage, with Segaris Art Center presenting block printing workshops in collaboration with local schoolchildren. Visitors can browse Pasar Seloka, a curated artisan bazaar, take part in DIY upcycling activities by Pulau Pulao, or learn mahjong from the team at All Tiled Up.

Families are well catered for with Ombak Kids, a dedicated zone featuring returning favourites like the giant puppets Meera & Fiz, kitemaking with Go Fly Kites, LEGOLAND’s Speed Building Challenge, and the imaginative Funfair of Forgotten Futures. Giant outdoor games by Mereka Games add to the all-ages appeal.

Set against the stunning backdrop of Malaysia’s southeastern coast, Ombak Festival takes place within the Desaru Coast resort area. Early bird passes are now on sale at ombakfestival.com and Ticketmelon.
