Nissan Kicks And BYD M6 Dominate VOTY 2025 Awards

It was a real surprise to see the Nissan KICKS e-POWER taking the coveted Vehicle of the Year 2025 title while in the new electric car category vehicle, BYD M6 was crowned Electric Vehicle of the Year 2025 at the DSF.my-Allianz Vehicle of the Year (VOTY) Awards 2025 held at The Saujana Hotel Kuala Lumpur on 23 April 2025.

The award ceremony recognises excellence across 22 diverse vehicle segments, expanding to feature new 10 dedicated awards for Electric Vehicles (EVs), reflecting the growing market and consumer shift towards electrification.

Nissan KICKS e-POWER stood out for its groundbreaking e-POWER technology, offering an EV-like drive experience without the need for charging, and a remarkable fuel efficiency of up to 900km per tank. This first-of-its-kind model in Malaysia represents a leap in bridging electrification with convenience.

“This award is an incredible honour and we are grateful for the recognition. Bhd.

BYD M6, on the other hand, emerged as the top pick for the EV of the Year thanks to its value-for-money proposition as a fully electric 7-seater MPV. The vehicle impressed with its practicality, smart features, and a starting price of RM109,800, making sustainable mobility more accessible for Malaysian families.

Hosted by Malaysia’s leading automotive platform www.dsf.my in collaboration with Allianz General Insurance Company (Malaysia) Berhad, the VOTY Awards this year marks DSF’s 25th anniversary, highlighting its long-standing commitment to providing insightful automotive journalism and industry analysis.

Other winners on the night include the Toyota Camry as the Executive Sedan of the Year, the TANK 300 as the SUV of the Year, while the Mercedes Benz E350e won the best Luxury Sedan of the Year.
