TikTok, the premier destination for short-form videos, has teamed up with Astro to host the highly anticipated “TikTok LIVE Gimme The Mic Malaysia” auditions. This dynamic singing competition is set to uncover and spotlight the country’s freshest musical talent, running exclusively on TikTok LIVE from 7 to 24 May 2024.

The Journey Begins
From the TikTok LIVE auditions, thirty standout contestants will earn a spot in the main event, which for the first time, will be broadcast on Astro Ria (Channel 104) starting July 2024. Over an exhilarating eight-week period, these talented individuals will showcase their vocal prowess, competing for the top spot.
How To JoinOpen to all Malaysians aged 18 and above, the audition process is simple yet thrilling. Participants are invited to submit a 30-second singing video on TikTok using the hashtag #GimmeTheMicMY. Following the audition phase, which closes on 24 May 2024, shortlisted contestants will take part in a Multi-Guest segment on TikTok LIVE. Here, they will have the unique opportunity to hone their skills under the mentorship of a renowned vocal coach.
On top of that, since its inception in 2023, the “Gimme The Mic” series has positioned TikTok as more than just a social media platform; it’s a launchpad for aspiring artists to reach international stages.
