Global lifestyle brand Puma made a bold statement at KL Fashion Week 2024 with a standout collaboration in the BEV C show on July 31. The event, showcasing the visionary designs of Johor Bahru-based designer Beverly Ang, also known as Beverly Bee, embraced the theme “Simple but Not Simple.” 
A Great Theme
This theme celebrated minimalist elegance and challenged traditional gender norms in fashion. Since its inception in 2013, BEV C has been at the forefront of innovative design, consistently pushing fashion boundaries. At this year’s show, the designer’s avant-garde collection, which masterfully blended feminine and masculine cuts, was perfectly complemented by the PUMA Speedcat.
Additionally, the Speedcat’s classic design elevated the overall aesthetic of the collection, underscoring Puma’s commitment to merging athletic heritage with contemporary style and spotlighting local design talent. Originally created as fireproof footwear for Formula 1, the Speedcat has evolved into a global fashion icon. 
A Mesmerising Crew
Its transition from the racetrack to the streets has solidified its status in the fashion world. Featuring a striking black and red suede update, the Speedcat OG has captivated fashion-forward celebrities and influencers, including Dua Lipa, Blackpink’s Rosé, Ines Silva, Lee Si Young, Heart Evangelista, and Win Metawin.
On top of that, the Speedcat’s latest drop, which debuted in June with limited quantities, has already seen high demand, with many sizes selling out quickly across Southeast Asia. The eagerly anticipated second drop is set to hit stores in Malaysia on 29 August.
