Aaron Taylor-Johnson now in the lead as Agent 007

2022 has been a roller-coaster year for many of us but perhaps Henry Cavill has had it worse than a lot of us. The poor man finally returned as Superman only to be fired from the role (again) then decided to leave Netflix’s The Witcher. Now he is no longer even the favorite actor to play the new James Bond after Daniel Craig left the role.James Bond

Yes, we were shocked when we heard too, after all, Cavill was the favorite in the public eye to be the next James Bond. But now, breakout star and Kraven the Hunter actor Aaron Taylor-Johnson is the new favorite and we can confidently say, we didn’t see that coming.

So let’s quickly take a look at the top five favorite actors who have the highest odds to portray the Suave British spy with a license to kill and a preference for his Martini to be shaken, not stirred, James Bond. In the lead with an implied probability of 48.65 percent, we have Aaron Taylor-Johnson.

Interestingly, Aaron was never in the top five unlike some of the other actors on this list but shot up 35 places to became the number one most likely actor to play James Bond this month. We wager a lot of it has to do with the internet thirsting over him and his mustache after his appearance in the movie Bullet Train recently.

The second most likely actor to play James Bond with an implied probability of 20.13 percent is Henry Cavill. Honestly we are a bit upset as he is our personal favorite and has been the most likely candidate since October but alas, the British actor simply cannot catch a break. Hopefully his upcoming Warhammer 40K project does well.

The third most likely actor to play James Bond is Rege-Jean Page with an implied probability of 15.53 percent. Page has been acting since 2001 and rose to fame with the Netflix period drama, Bridgerton and even the directors of Marvel’s Avengers Endgame, the Russo brothers even believe he should be the next James Bond.

The fourth most likely actor to play James Bond with an implied probability of 13.22 percent is none other than James Norton. The English film, television and stage actor is best known for his role in Happy Valley and was nominated for the British Academy Television Award for Best Supporting Actor in 2015.

And finally in the fifth spot with an implied probability of 10.74 percent we have the ‘bane’ (get it?) of Batman’s existence, Tom Hardy. Anyway, Hardy is widely considered to be a top tier actor and we agree. His portrayal of Alfie Solomons in Peaky Blinders, as well as Reginald and Ronald Kray in Legend more than prove it and we honestly expected him to be a lot higher on this list.
