These collaborative timepieces will debut in Malaysia

Sincere Fine Watches has expanded its offerings with Christiaan van der Klaauw Astronomical Watches. This is the latest brand to join Sincere’s extensive portfolio of esteemed watch brands, which are available for collectors in this region.

This marks the first entry of the latter brand into Malaysia and Singapore with Sincere Fine Watches as the exclusive retailer in these markets. Both parties are looking forward to a successful collaboration, as they make these Haute Horlogerie timepieces accessible to customers here for the first time.

Christiaan van der Klaauw, first established in 1974 takes inspiration from astronomy to create its famous watches. Astronomy is, in essence, time in its purest form and this relationship has played a key role in all the brand’s creations including the first clock van der Klaauw made which contained astronomical complications.

Designer couple Daniel and Maria Reintjes acquired Christiaan van der Klaauw in 2009 and decided to reinvent the brand to become what it is today, the world’s only atelier whose design and production is exclusively dedicated to making hand-made astronomical watches.

What’s more, on 1 June 2022, Master watchmaker Pim Koeslag acquired a majority stake in Christiaan van der Klaauw and joined the existing Managing Board as Technical Director. This not only foreshadows a plethora of stunning projects down the line but also guarantees a bright future for the brand.

Another reason we believe that Christiaan van der Klaauw Astronomical Watches has a bright future is because the brand is now officially listed on the ‘Haute Horlogerie’ White Paper list of the respected Fondation Haute Horlogerie (FHH) in Switzerland. The brand is now one of only 65 watch brands in the world to hold this achievement.

The brand was also awarded the most prestigious watch accolade in Switzerland, the Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Geneve (GPHG) Calendar & Astronomy Award in 2021. For those unfamiliar with this award, think of it as the ‘Oscars’ of watchmaking

All Christiaan van der Klaauw timepieces, from the astonishing ‘Planetarium’ which has the smallest mechanical planetarium in the world, to the ‘Real Moon Joure’ which contains the most accurate 3D moon phase in the world, are designed and manufactured using only the finest materials in the world in the city of Naarden, The Netherlands.
